Is It Necessary?

These days I am reading some news on the television that our Government will cancel the subject of “German” language from Kendriya Vidyalaya throughout the nation. They are saying, they will teach “Sanskrit” instead of “German”. So, is it necessary to do this? I mean what is the inevitability regarding this? Is there urgency that somebody will counter us if we do not do this? No, there is no urgency but the question is about remembering your glorious past and respecting its values.
The Indian culture, especially Hinduism, has a big history. People use to say it is 5000 years old, but I do not believe it because Vedas were written for more than thousands and thousands years ago. A number of great “Maharishi” contributed their part in the formation of the Vedas and this contribution was collaborated by a great “Maharishi” named as Ved Vyas, he divided or differentiated the Vedas equally. They wrote this knowledge in Sanskrit, not in English, German or French. There is a huge knowledge in these Vedas and Purana. Indian people do not need to look at Foreigners for technology and knowledge. If we read these scriptures, Granth (knowledge books) etc. we will acquire so much knowledge. We seriously do not need to look at other countries and discourage our nation, and its values.
German language or any foreign language can provide us the job of a freelancer or an interpreter, but these languages would not give us the knowledge and true meaning of life. It is because the grammar and literature are limited; it is not much. The language, which has limited grammar and limited literature, is not complete and it cannot provide us deeper knowledge about anything. On the contrary, Sanskrit has a wide grammar and there are billions of “Slokas”, which has a complete meaning about every aspect of the life. The language is preserved for the last thousands and thousands years, and I want it to be learned by next generations too. That is why I am favoring Sanskrit over German language.
I advise students to learn as much as the languages they can. They should learn the new advancements in the technology, but people should connect well with the roots of the nation too. They should respect their values, culture and traditions, but they should not feel discouraged about anything, which makes them think that it is valueless in this time. I hope I have raised my feelings from the bottom of my heart.
