WHY THIS WORLD-CUP IS NOT THE 'SAME ONE' FOR ME!!

I was born in the year when Imran Khan lifted the world cup i.e. 1992, I was 4 when great Arjun Ranatunga won the cricket world cup in the Asian subcontinent, and I was 7 in 1999 – where I saw the courage of Steve Waugh and his ‘invincible’ team and their dominance in the Cricket world for the three consecutive world cups till 2007. I saw the moment in my life, when M. S. Dhoni lifted the cricket world cup after 28 years. However, why I am talking in a sarcastic manner and why I am telling you cricket world cup history? It’s because this world cup of 2015 is not the same one for me, I saw a legend since my childhood, a legend who inspired many generations to go and play cricket, a person who made cricket a religion in India, a person who is responsible for scoring a number of records for the nation, the person is – Sachin Tendulkar.
That is why this world cup is not the same for me and I am not excited about the ongoing matches. Great Sachin Tendulkar has scored the most number of runs, number of centuries, good match average both in test and one day matches, and many other records that I cannot describe here, because the list of records are longer than we can even calculate. He made the generations to start cricket and to make it as a career. He retired in 2012, and believe me a majority of people has stopped watching cricket game. Believe me my generation is, raised by watching his talent and his aura. We love him and you he has scored the most number of runs in the world cup as well, so that is why I said this world cup is not the same for me.
Anybody can be the champion and my wishes are with each and every player, but I am not interested in watching it, told you the reason. Therefore, I am little sad during the world cup, hope every team will perform better for their nation. Hope teams will show a great talent of their skills.

120 BRAVE MEN & A LONG NIGHT OF LONGEWALA!!!

                                                           MAJOR CHANDPURI
I am watching ‘Beating Retreat’ on T.V. and I am glad to see such a discipline, dedication, enthusiasm and obedience of our defense personnel. That is why; I am going to talk about Indian Army and a very famous story of the soldiers, which happened in Longewala, Rajasthan in the war of 1971. The desert is one of the own kind of geographic conditions on Earth; you can feel 50 degrees heat in the day and the temperature below five, at night. It means there is a huge variation in the desert. How our soldiers created a remark there? It is one of the most inspiring stories of all time.
In the war of 1971 against Pakistan, there was a post in the Thar, Rajasthan, named as Longewala. It was, guarded by 23rd Battalion, Punjab regiment, who was in the command of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri. On December 4, 1971 near about 2000-3000, Pakistani soldiers full of ammunition, guns, tanks and food. During the December month, the temperature in the desert is not bearable and it takes so much courage to survive that.
That time Indian Air Force did not have fighter jets, which could fly in the night; hence, air support was not an option. The Punjab regiment soldiers were facing a deficiency of every logistic and material. However, they had courage, will, determination and patriotism for the nation. It was more than enough to counter the Pakistani, Major Chandpuri was capable of holding the post and every soldier was loyal to their chief. The war started and Pakistanis tried to threaten the soldiers by verbal abuses, and what they will do to them when they will win the post!
Major Chandpuri was, remained with two choices, either to try and hold out until having reinforcement or to order a concrete on foot retreat of his company to Ramgarh. However, valiant Chandpuri refused at the time of adversity, not to back out and running from one bunker to another. He held the post with 120 men and answered enemy’s bullets via bullets.
PAKISTANI TANKS WHO TRIED TO EVADE FROM THE LONGEWALA
When the daylight broke, India Air Force operated powerfully. They sent HF-24 Maruts and Hawker Hunter aircrafts to help the Longewala post and in no time, the fleet led by Air Controller (FAC) Major Atma Singh in a HAL Krishak turned the battle in India’s favor. There was no air support from Pakistan’s side and they were facing a serious situation there. Maruts and Hunter aircrafts destroyed every tank on the side of Pakistan, as there was no tank in Indian side. They destroyed every tank and we won the war there in less than 12 hours. It was a fight of ‘David vs. Goliath’ and we held the post with a minimum loss (2 deaths, I think). They planned to have the breakfast at Ramgarh, lunch in Jaisalmer and dinner in Delhi, but they were not able to cross 1m into the Indian Territory.
                                          SOLDIERS CELEBRATING AFTER THE WAR
Wow, seriously, this was a great example of perseverance, determination, will power, nationalism and patriotism. Whenever, I see ‘Border’ movie I get Goosebumps and feel proud of our soldiers, we are living happily because those men are standing on the borders for us. They use to sacrifice their happiness for us, so that we can live in our homes with our family. I respect Major Chandpuri and his men for protecting us at that time. I respect all those martyrs, who lost their lives for us. Anyways, thanks for reading it. I hope you enjoyed the article and yes, comments and likes are most welcomed.

A Day In History

It’s 16 December, this day has a great importance in the history of Indian Defense, and today I am going to share about an incident, which created a new nation. On this day, 33 years ago under the command of General Sam Manekshaw India created a new nation, Bangladesh, from the map of Pakistan. India in collaboration with Eastern Pakistan started Operation Chengiz Khan against the barbarism and cruelty of Pakistan army, who were slaughtering millions of people in the East Pakistan. The war lasted for 13 days, and it made 90,000 to 93,000 Pakistan Armed Forces with paramilitary personnel as war prisoners by Indian army. In addition, Pakistan faced a huge humiliation from this incident.
This is Sam Manekshaw.
Indian Army is in Bangladesh.
Your Air force is, destroyed.
You are, surrounded on all sides and if you do not surrender,
You all will be killed unmercifully.”
-          Sam Manekshaw during the war

General Manekshaw planned every move very carefully and strategically, he created pressure on Pakistan Army very bravely and which resulted in the victory of India. The pictures of signature between Lt. Gen Arora and Lt. Gen Niyazzi are the best memory regarding the war. India won the war from every side, in air, water or land. Moreover, India defeated Pakistan Army in Eastern and Western fronts of the border.
Our Army created a nation for the sake of the native people. India could exaggerate the war and could do more harm for Pakistan, but after freeing Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, India concluded the war. Indian army was brave and humble; we have done big harm for the Pakistan in minimum sacrifice.
After winning the war, Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto signed Shimla agreement, which ensured the Independence of Bangladesh and returning of POW's. India treated all the POW's in strict relation with the Geneva-Convention, rule 1925. It released more than 90,000 Pakistani POW's within five months.

The agreement also gave back more than 13,000 km² of land that, Indian troops had seized in West Pakistan during the war, though India retained a few strategic areas. However, some in India felt that the treaty had been too merciful to Bhutto, who had begged for leniency, arguing that the fragile democracy in Pakistan would crumble if Pakistanis took the agreement as being overly harsh and that he would be, accused of losing Kashmir in addition to the loss of East Pakistan.
This day is to remind the sacrifice and bravery of Indian Army. I want to say that we love you; you have made us proud every time, Indian Army. You are the best, whenever we need you-you are always there for us! Thanks
